Email : Electronic Mail commonly known as e-Mail  is the same as a letter, only it is exchanged in a different way.Electronic Mail (e-mail) is one of most widely used services of Internet. This service allows an Internet user to send a message in formatted manner (mail) to the other Internet user in any part of world. Message in mail not only contain text, but it also contains images, audio and videos data. The person who is sending mail is called sender and person who receives mail is called recipient. It is just like postal mail service Computers use the TCP/IP protocol suite to send e-mail messages in the form of packets. E-mail address overview:

The first field is the user name (editor) which refers to the recipient's mailbox. Then, there is the sign (@) which is the same in every e-mail address. Then, the last is the host name (internet-guide). which can also be called the domain name.

Writing an e-mail

When writing an e-mail message, it should look something like the example window below. As you can see, several fields are required when sending an e-mail:

• The To field is where the e-mail address of the person receiving the e-mail is placed.
• The From field should contain your e-mail address.
• If you are replying to a message, the To: and From: fields are automatically filled out. If it's a new message, you need to specify the recipients in the To: field by selecting them from your contact list or by typing the e-mail addresses. If you enter more than one recipient (e.g., group e-mail), the addresses should be separated by a comma and a space or by pressing the Tab.

• The CC ("Carbon Copy") field lets you specify recipients who are not direct addressees (listed in the "To" field).
• The BCC ("blind carbon copy") field is similar to CC, except the recipients are secret. Each BCC recipient receives the e-mail, but does not see who else received a copy. The addressees (anyone listed in the "To" field) remain visible to all recipients. This field is optional.
• Finally, the Message Body is the location you type your main message.
• An email attachment is a computer file sent along with an email message. One or more files can be attached to any email message, and be sent along with it to the recipient. This is typically used as a simple method to share documents and images.
